About CambriaVessels Coal Gas Inc.,(VCG), is dedicated to economically capturing venting mine methane. Our expertise is converting waste methane into a marketable resource. We have been active since 2003 building and operating 4 projects around the country. Reducing methane emissions, short lived climate pollutant, has the greatest immediate impact on reducing global warming (http://www.ccacoalition.org/). Capturing the methane improves mine/facility operations by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and volatile organic compounds associated with the methane. VCG develops markets for methane reduction by lobbying, directly engaging regulatory agencies, joining strategic trade associations, and developing and operating economic pilot projects. VCG wrote and had approved the first Abandoned Mine Methane Protocol in the USA by the Verified Carbon Registry, lobbied for and had accepted electricity from mine methane as eligible for the Renewable Portfolio Standard in Colorado, and participated in the working group advising the California Air Resources Board in their drafting of the Mine Methane Capture Protocol. From 2003 to 2007 VCG made on site visits to evaluate and test numerous mine methane emission prospects in 12 states in the USA and Mexico. VCG test drilled or participated in 4 horizontal wells and 6 vertical wells in coal beds and coal mines. We negotiated with large public and independent mining corporations. We attempted to get power purchase agreements with investor owned, rural electric cooperative and municipal power utilities. We closed on transactions to develop an abandoned mine in Pennsylvania and an active (now abandoned) mine in Colorado.

Since 2008, Vessels has captured over 2 billion cubic feet of methane emissions. This has the same effect as reducing 3.3 million metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
